Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive Nairobi to be picked at the airport and transferred to your hotel for an overnight.
Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve
Pick up from your overnight hotel where you are greeted by your guide / driver. We then depart for the spectacular Samburu national park. A scenic drive past the Aberdare ranges and Mt Kenya.
We arrive at the Samburu reserve just before lunch and enjoy our first game drive as we head to the Luxurious samburu intrepids lodge where we check in and enjoy lunch, before heading out for our first afternoon game drive.
Famous home of the late conservationists George & Joy adamson, who raised Elsa the Lion. The Samburu people are also pastoral relatives of the Maasai people with their colourful clothing. The Spectacular Samburu wilderness is raw and untouched and is home to the Maasai Lion, Tanzanian Cheetah, Leopard, Elephant, Cape buffalo, Hippos, Grevvy’s zebra and reticulated Giraffe and much more
Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve
Full day game drive exploring the very best of this magnificent reserve.
The Samburu is very raw, peaceful and attracts major wildlife due to the Ewaso Ng’iro river which offers spectacular photo opportunities. Samburu is amazing for landscape photography and offers diverse landscapes not seen in other reserves in Kenya. After a full day we head back to Samburu intrepids for dinner and a talk by one of the Samburu tribes men about their culture and the wildlife.
Day 3: Samburu – Lake Nakuru
Breakfast at Intrepids then depart for Lake Nakuru National park arriving in good time for lunch at L.Nakuru Lodge.
After check in we proceed for a Afternoon game drive, afterwards return to the lodge in the evening for followed by dinner and overnight at
Lake Nakuru’s is beautifully coloured by over bird 400 species. The Lake is an important haven for endangered species- particularly the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all also found here
Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Amboseli
After breakfast, for leave for breathtaking Amboseli National Park, enroute to the luxurious 5 star Kibo Safari camp. After check in we relax and enjoy the surrounds before later departing for an afternoon game drive. We witness a true African sunset and return to camp for dinner and overnight
Day 5: Amboseli Reserve
Buffet Breakfast is served prior to departing for a full day game drive in Amboseli National Park. The breathtaking Mt Kilimanjaro in full view from this amazing reserve, we search for the wild animals strolling around the reserve, as well as the massive big tusk elephants in the marsh. Big Hippo and buffalo can also be seen in the marsh area. Amboseli is home to Lions, Hyena, cheetah and most antelopes. We later return to the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp.
Day 6: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
After a morning breakfast we leave Amboseli and drive to the famous Rift Valley Lakes heading to the 5 star Sopa lodge in Naivasha for Lunch. After lunch, we go for an afternoon walk in the stunning Sopa lodge grounds, where wild Zebra and waterbuck roam freely. We walk to the lake and spot the hippos. Fish eagles can be seen and heard. By dark we must head in doors as the hippos feed on the grass around the hotel. Hippos can be seen grazing from the safety of your hotel balcony. Evening dinner is served in the grand dining room with a magnificent buffet.
Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara national park
After early morning breakfast we head to Lake Naivasha for an early morning boat ride on the lake. Here we see the hundreds of different birds that reside in and around the lake. Big families of hippos can also be viewed sleeping. After our 2 hour boat ride we depart for Africa’s premier Game Reserve, The Maasai Mara. Stopping briefly at the Maasai town of Narok for lunch and a quick walk around.
After lunch we drive through the Maasai villages toward Oldarpoi Mara camp located just 5 minutes from the Main gate of the great reserve. After check in and some refreshments, we head out for our first afternoon and evening game drive in the Maasai Mara conservancy Nashulai. This amazing conservancy is part of the greater Mara packed with wildlife. Nashulai is exclusive for guests of Oldarpoi and Real Maasai safari tours. It is here we saw a Hyena make a kill and a giraffe give birth in the same day. We head back to oldarpoi for buffet dinner and chat around the fire
Day 8: Maasai Mara – Full day game drive
After breakfast we head out for a full day game drive. We seek out the Maasai Mara crossing points in search of some action and some wildebeest crossing the river. We have lunch in the park and enjoy the sounds and sights of mother nature. The Mara is home to all the big cats, as well as elephant, giraffe, black Rhino, Hyena, wild dogs, Leopard and the list goes on.
We head back for a Sundowner and witness a true African sunset which never fails to impress. Dinner at Oldarpoi in the main dining area.
Day 9: Maasai Village tour / Afternoon game drive Maasai Mara (with optional overnight camping)
After morning breakfast we head to a Maasai village and experience the Maasai culture. Here we can see how these amazing people have survived for hundreds of years without all the western essentials we take for granted. We enter the Maasai homes and go deep into their customs and experience a full Warrior dance. We Return to Camp for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive in the Maasai mara. For those wanting to experience a night out camping by the stunning sand river. we have large tents pitched by the river, with our rangers, staff and chefs. It is here were we have a real African experience by the fire and enjoy our dinner in the wild. We sleep overnight in our comfy tents whilst the rangers monitor and keep the campsite safe with the burning fire.
Day 10: Full Day game drive Maasai Mara
Full final days game drive in the Maasai mara. For those who have camped overnight at the sand river. Breakfast is served with the sunrise over the river, before we depart from campsite for an action packed full day in the Mara. For those that have not camped at the river. Breakfast is served at Oldarpoi camp before heading out for full day drive.
Day 11: Road trip Back to Nairobi
After morning breakfast we pack our bags and head back to Nairobi. The drive back will pass through wild lands of the Maasai, where we can still see much wildlife. We arrive back in Nairobi in the afternoon where our safari adventure ends.
